What we build

The portfolio serves professionals and consumers alike. Some apps are working tools: pricing a notary appointment, calculating a nursing shift, underwriting a self-storage facility, sizing a water heater or keeping the daily log for a small water system. Others help with everyday life at home: a baby’s nap times, the dates on food in the fridge, a holiday dinner and a daily meditation practice.

These products don’t share a market. What they share is an approach: find a specific problem, understand it properly, and build the smallest tool that solves it well.

Why focused

An app that tries to do everything usually does most of it poorly. Keeping each product narrow means it can be quick to learn, easy to trust and honest about its limits. When a calculation is an estimate, the app says so; when a question needs a professional, the app says that too.

How the products are published

Every app has its own dedicated website. That website is the best place for details, guides and free web tools, and it is where support and privacy information for the app lives. This site is the portfolio that brings them together.

Released apps are distributed through the Apple App Store. When a product becomes available on another platform, its store listing is added to the app’s page here.

The name

Kaizen is a Japanese word usually translated as “continuous improvement”. It describes how we like to work: release something useful, then keep making it better in small steps.
